Here are a collection of knives made by me for a group of friends who were off stalking in the Highlands in November.
I call this my Dunrobin model, named after the estate that inspired the design. The shape lends itself to being multie purpose, from hunting to whittling to food prep
The sheath design means it can be worn left or righ and does not dig in when moving around
Although these knives have already gone the picture demonstrate what I can make. The blade is made from 01 Sheffield tool steel, the handle material can be varied. In this group the handles were made from English Oak (collected by me from Thirsk, North Yorkshire), English Hawthorne (collected by me in Sheffield, South Yorkshire), Spalted Beech and Bocote.
The blades, mosaic pins and sheaths were all made by me from scratch, the handles were finished with a 72 hour soak in Danish oil and then buffed with Carnuba wax.
The blades were patina’d by me to help prevent rusting as these are going to be working blades
The basic, approximate dimensions are
90mm OAL blade, 30mm deep Handle is 110 long Knife is 210mm OAL
I can make one incorporating your choice of handle material and blade grind (sabre or full flat) and I can also personalise the sheath.
50% deposit on confirmation of the order and then the remaining amount before dispatch. I would need about 8 weeks to complete the knife but would do my best to finish earlier
Shipping in the UK is free, for any other locations I will happily provide a quote for delivery at cost
