Please note that the colours of the naturally dyed wool in the photographs may be subtly different in real life, the colours you see on a computer depend upon how you have your monitors colour adjusted.
Unless otherwise stated all wool sold should be washed in a cool wash (30 degrees celcius) and should not be tumble dried unless you want the garment to shrink and/or felt.
With some of the stronger colours you may find a certain amount of colour transfer when working with the wool, this is normal. Like a new pair of jeans, there may be some transfer before washing for the first time.
At Tinctoria we hand dye Wool and other Yarns using a range of natural dyes. This results in one of a kind, beautiful skeins of yarn that can be used in a variety of projects.
We use dyes harvested where possible from Yorkshire. More exotic dyes and all yarns come from small businesses based across the North of England.
Natural dyes have been used for thousands of years to colour fabric a wide range of bright colourful shades. Each dye may gradually fade over time, so any garment that is made with our yarn may change and develop beautifully as the years pass.
If you have a particular project in mind and require a set weight/length of yarn in a particular shade, please let us know and we will be glad to dye a batch just for you at no extra cost.
