Hi there, Welcome to BlackLightningOpals. On offer today is a piece of rough Queensland boulder opal. It have been slabbed down or rubbed down, and needs to be finished off. The bar can sometimes be thin, undulate or taper. It will possibly require carving with a rotary tool. Its exactly the same material as the cut material we sell (Lot B) its not seconds or rejects. This piece was taken from the bucket of material we have graded out for cutting. We have quite a lot of this rough boulder opal material and can only sell so much cut, so we have chosen to sell rough as well as cut.
Stone: Queensland boulder opal.
Weight: 9.05 carats. Size: 21 x 13 x 5 mm.
This material has been photographed wet, outdoors in natural sunlight. When you first get it please wet it and take it outdoors to look at in natural sunlight. You are doing this so your looking at it in the same conditions the image was taken with. If you look at a piece of rough opal dry and under indoors light, it will look nothing like the picture. The pictures were taken wet to show what it should look like once its cut.
Australia. $5.00 flat rate for unlimited combined postage. USA, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and all Asian countries $15.00 flat rate for unlimited combined postage. Europe including UK, Germany, Netherlands and all of South America $20.00 flat rate for unlimited combined postage.
If your destination isn't listed, please ask.
I'm here to sell opal, not postage. The price I ask you to pay is less than I have to pay. I always post with a trace number. If I had a cheaper safe option, I would take it.
HOW MUCH IS YOUR ITEM REALLY WORTH? IS THIS GUY RIPPING ME? I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT OPAL. People ask this all the time, if you go to your local jeweler and tell them you bought something online many will tell you that you got ripped off without even looking at it because a lot of retail jewelers resent internet for bringing transparency to the gem and jewellery market.
If you REALLY want to know how much you would have to pay in a retail store. Bring in the item(s) you purchased and tell them that you got it/them as a gift/inheritance etc and want one to match for your daughter/mother/wife/sister/friend and you need them to get one for you to match it. THEN you will see what kind of prices they will charge and you will see how much the item is really worth. Then you can see how good a deal you got from me and I am sure you will be back again and again.
Thanks for looking guys. I hope we can do some business. Don't be shy to send a message if you have questions, I'm here to help.
