Lot of 2 Metallic Blue-Coated Agate Drusy Oval Cabochon Beads with Large 2mm Holes

Condition: both cabs/beads are in good shape, although the smaller piece has a gouge in the back (see photos 5 and 9) and what seems to be a crack but which is only on the surface

Measurements: the larger cab/bead is approximately 1 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide
(3.81 x 2.86 cm); the smaller cab/bead is about 1 3/8" long by 1" wide (3.49 x 2.54 cm)

I love drusy (or druzy) stones for their fascinating crystal structures, which add a great juxtaposition of textures to my jewelry creations. The 2 cabochons/beads in this listing are both agates with an incredible metallic blue coating, but they are not a matched pair: the crystals on top of the larger stone are much finer than those on the smaller cab. They're both nice, weighty stones that would be perfect for bead embroidery projects or would make great focal pieces for a bracelet or a necklace. Because they each have a 2mm-diameter hole horizontally through their centers (see photo 7), the cabs also could be strung on narrow cording or ribbon. After several tries I've just not been able to come up with the right treatment for either of them, so I'm hoping that someone else will find inspiration where I couldn't!

FAQs

Handmade jewelry should be treated gently: do not shower or go swimming while wearing; polish with a soft damp cloth or a silver-polishing cloth; keep in a cool, dry place such as a soft bag or lined box; do not hang necklaces or bracelets--their weight can cause stringing materials to stretch or connecting rings to pull open. If damage does occur, please contact me to discuss repair or replacement. Please treat temari with respect. Have clean hands when touching them, keep them out of direct sunlight, and display or store them in a dust-free area (or dust off gently as needed). If temari get wet, colors may run; do not scrub threads as they may break. If necessary, please contact me to discuss repair or replacement.

If components of my jewelry have broken due to a flaw in the components or in my construction, I will be happy to make repairs at no charge to you (including return shipping), assuming that I still have the same components available. If they are not available, I will contact you to discuss options for the repair. For all other reasons for repair, I still will be happy to do whatever I can, usually for a small fee, and assuming that I have the materials required. Buyer is responsible for cost of repair, shipping, and insurance charges. As for temari, minor thread replacement may be possible depending upon design, location, and availability of thread.
