If you love knitting engaging lace patterns with highest-quality yarn, this is the kit for you! This kit contains one XL (200 g/ oz) skein of our Silk Fingering in Showstopper Gradient, the exact yarn used to make the Showstopper Shawl. (Please note this kit contains the yarn only, the pattern and notions must be purchased separately - of course, this also means you can purchase the yarn and use it for any other pattern you'd like to be Showstopping!)
*About the pattern* **The pattern is available from the Apple Tree Knits Ravelry pattern store, and is not included in the kit.** Be showstopping! This peacock-inspired shawl is the ultimate statement piece, and an instant heirloom. Designed for wearability, the more-than-half-pi shape sits beautifully on the shoulders (no shawl pin required!) and provides ample coverage for ladies of all sizes. This design features an engaging mix of lace patterns and two different colors of beads. The heavy beading and complex lower border make this pattern a bit challenging; it’s best suited for knitters with lace knitting experience. Please note that this pattern is charted only, there are no written instructions for the lace patterns.
*Other materials and notions needed* Size 8/0 beads in 2 colors; 980 beads in Main Color (MC, shown in blue), and 388 beads in Contrasting Color (CC, shown in gold) Small crochet hook or beading hook (for adding beads) US #4 (3.5 mm) circular needles, or size to obtain gauge. Sharp needles are preferable, as they will make it easier to work the row following an increase row.
*About the yarn* Inspired by peacock's tails, this Gradient features deep purple, cobalt blue, aquamarine, peridot, and gold flowing slowly together.
Silk Fingering is a decadent 2-ply fingering weight yarn, perfect for shawls, scarves, and lightweight tops. This Swiss-spun silk sets the bar in quality and beauty. It's unbelievably soft, yet it holds a block tremendously well and it's incredibly strong (and hypoallergenic too)! The shine and drape of this gorgeous yarn turn any project into an instantly elegant masterpiece!
