These socks are designed to represent the Great Hall at Christmastime. The design has a banner running down each side which is to represent the house banners and the eyelets in the centre are to represent the snow that falls from the ceiling. These socks are made with an afterthought heel but it is easy to change depending on your heel preference. The pattern on the front of the sock can easily be repeated on the back of the leg.
This pattern contains written instructions as well as a chart for the lace if you find that easier to follow! These are a fun and quick knit and the lace is easy to master. There are instructions for a 52, 56, 60, 64, 68 or 72 stitch cast on. It is easy to change if you cast on more stitches too. The instructions for the afterthought heel are included and contains information on how to avoid the hole that some afterthought heels form.
The sample socks were made in Pixel Atlantis Strong Sock in the colourway Luna. I used 222 yards to fit my UK size 5 feet.
