Rustic handspun yarn - natural local suffolk wool, dyed with indigo for a beautiful chunky lofty blue handspun yarn. Suffolk is a bulky, lofty yarn that resists felting. Has lots of memory!
I dyed this yarn with indigo, a natural plant dye. The color has a richness and depth that cannot be conveyed by camera - it's incredibly rich and beautiful. There will most likely be some crocking (color rub off) which is completely natural, and just part of using indigo dye, especially the deepest indigo blues.
The fiber I used is from local family farms.
68 yards, single ply bulky weight. 4.2 oz
Often these yarns are completely one of a kind, but occasionally I might have doubles, or may be able to custom-spin larger amounts if you need. Please convo me if you have any questions or requests.
These yarns are spun in my home; I do my absolute best to keep my felines and housebunny out of the fiber, but please do be aware that these yarns are created in an pet-friendly home. After they are spun, tagged, photographed and listed on etsy, they "live" in my herb shop until they are sold, so they DO smell pleasantly of herbs - most people find this pleasant but if you think this might be objectionable, you have been warned :)
SHIPPING! I did my best to make shipping affordable, and put in the weight and dimensions for every listing so etsy can calculate the best shipping rate for you - but the problem is, it doesn't work well. :/ The shipping seems to be accurate for one or two skeins, but more than that and it can be high. I will also refund you if there are shipping overcharges! So do not fret. Feel free to convo me if you need more exact information before you purchase, but I WILL always check and refund you any excess if needed.
