Tired of trying to find the courage to cut your vintage assiut shawl to use for decorating a belt or a bra? There is a solution! This piece of fabric was specifically designed to be used in costume decoration. The rich geometric pattern (diamonds and triangles) was inspired by vintage heavily embroidered assiut shawls popular in 1930s.
• The fabric used for the base of this piece is tulle that does not fray which makes it easy to cut and sew. • The fabric is see-through and a bit elastic, can be draped. • The color is a rare and refined combination of gold on black. • Tiny stiches (1x5mm) create a very exquisite effect of a mermaid skin. • The size of the piece is 36 x 30 cm (including seam allowences).
NOTE ON CONDITION: a triangle at the bottom has one tiny tear. It does not ruin the pattern and it won't be visible with the naked eye. But it's there.
This unique assiut piece can be used for decorating a bra, a belt, a headpiece, a bracelet, etc. and can be easily cut into fragments.
