PDF PATTERN!

This listing is for the PDF version of our Sewing Smiles Doll Pattern. See listings for the paper version of this pattern.

The Sewing Smiles Doll is the first Bo Twal Pattern! The profits from this pattern will be used to provide one doll to a child in an underdeveloped country. Their doll will be very much like this one since the pattern being used to sew their doll is the same!

This listing is for a paper pattern to make this doll. Full size templates and detailed instructions are included. The pattern comes in our signature brown paper bag sealed with polka dot wash tape.

To make the 17" Sewing Smiles Doll you will need the following materials which are NOT included:

• 1/4 yard of fabric for skin
• 8" square of fabric for hair
• Fabric scraps equal to 1/4 yard for pocket and dress or shirt and pants
• Coordinating thread
• Cotton or polyester fill
• Three colors of embroidery floss for the eyes, nose, and mouth
• 3" rickrack for pocket trim
• 40" total of ribbon and rickrack for the girl doll hair (ten 4" pieces)

This doll is great for using your special scraps from other projects. The patchwork clothes make up the body and include an integrated pocket in the dress or shirt. The fabric hair is part of the head, and the ribbon and rickrack pigtails can be placed anywhere within the head seam to create a variety of looks. The instructions are for a girl doll with ribbon and rickrack pigtails and a patchwork dress and for a boy doll with a patchwork shirt and pants. Feel free to mix and match-make a girl with a shirt and pants or without the pigtails.

The Sewing Smiles Doll is designed by Deborah Fisher especially for Bo Twal. You can see more of Deborah's work at www.fishmuseumandcircus.com.
