This quill pen holder or pen stand is decorated with an embossed pineapple motif, and comes with a calligraphy matching pen nib. Just add your favourite quill feather (ostrich, peacock, wild turkey) to customize your pen set.
The pineapple was used as a symbol of hospitality in Colonial times, and is still used today to welcome guests.
Both the pen holder and the nib are made of metal with a shiny brass finish, and were made in the 1980s.
Dimensions: pen holder measures 2-5/8" across and 2-1/2" high, the pen hole is 3/8" in diameter; pen nib is 1-3/4" long and holds a feather with a shaft of 3/16" diameter or less.
Condition: This quill pen holder and pen nib is in very good vintage condition. The finish on both pieces is bright and shiny. This is not a heavy pen stand, but it is balanced well, and functions well.
With your own quill feather, this beautiful pen holder and pen nib would look great on your antique desk, or make an elegant statement for your wedding or anniversary Guest Book table.
