This retro French braid has a woven folk art pattern of white edelweiss and blue gentians, amongst other flowers, on a green background. Designs like this were very popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s when braid was used to edge all kinds of textiles from napkins to the hems of skirts.
While it could still be used for edging it also makes an unusual and striking way to secure wrapping paper. Unlike adhesive tape, it can be rolled up and used again time after time and it doesn’t damage the paper either! Green is always a good colour as it tends not to clash with other shades and the splash of red adds a festive vibe.
The braid both feels and looks like it is made of cotton but there is no indication on the spool that this is the case.
It costs £1 per metre in length. This option is for between 6 and 12 metres of this braid. More than 5 metres in a continuous piece is too bulky to be sent as a large letter and will therefore be sent as a small parcel with Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery. There is a separate listing to buy up to 5 metres in length.
Whatever length you select from the drop down menu, the braid will be cut to order and will be sent as one continuous piece.
