Thick handwoven white/cream fabric with a tribal pattern.
This authentic decorative textile can be placed on the bed, hung on the wall/ as a tapestry, thrown over a chair or couch, used as a blanket, as a beach/picnic blanket or to be turned into pillowcases or chair upholstery.
African artisans hand-dye symbols into these fabrics in order to tell stories or their villages and African proverbs.
Mudcloths are individually hand spun, handwoven and hand painted. Each piece is different and no two are exactly alike.
Please note that authentic mudcloths are several panels stitched together, have a raw edge, may show signs of age and slight staining, and may need to be reinforced if they are to be used for projects. These details should not be written off as defects. They add to the overall character and history of the piece.
