Item details

This natural brown Manx Loaghtan combed top is ready to be spun or felted. This fiber is soft and easy to spin.

Manx Loaghtan has an average staple length (2.5"-5"), an average micron count of 27, is soft and has historically been used for sweaters and tailored suits.

The Manx Loagthan sheep originate from the Isle of Mann, an independent island in the UK. They are considered a primitive rare breed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Once this warm light brown color was near extinction as the Manx Loaghtan numbers dwindled but has been brought back to be the most common color available.
