An exquisite piece of natural agarwood from the tropical jungles of Malaysia.
The aromatic and highly prized oleoresin of agarwood is formed when the tree undergoes stress. It could be physical injury, fungal infection, or disease. As a survival countermeasure, the oleoresin is produced.
Amazingly, different catalyst will produce agarwood with different aroma. Hence why some say "even two agarwood trees living next to each other won't smell exactly the same".
Out of the many types of agarwood, those produced due to ants making their nest in the tree, is said to give off one of the best aroma. Some collectors specifically search for ant's nest agarwood to add to their collection.
Scent profile : Smooth, sweet (pastry in the oven sweet), ample amount of woody agarwood goodness. Soothing, Calming and grounding, very suitable for incense aromatherapy.
Heating a small piece is enough to scent a small room substantially.
This particular piece has a very unique shape, carved skillfully so that the natural formation is preserved.
