I will always try to ship within one business day of receiving your payment. If the cost to ship your actual order ends up being less, I will always refund the difference back to you. This sometimes happens with multi item orders or items that are being shipped to locations very near to New York. Please note that I will use Etsy or Paypal for labeling and shipping. Please make sure that your address is correctly listed. If you are sending a gift to another location, it is more efficient to change the address on the actual order. Also be sure to include any gift card message you would like to enclose.
SPECIAL NOTE: I am a huge recycler. Not only does this help to keep my prices reasonable, but it is also good for the planet. You should expect that I will reuse package material and shipping boxes and acquire these things from multiple sources.
DOMESTIC (within the USA) items are usually sent USPS Priority Mail. However, in the case of overly large, heavy boxes,or boxes traveling a far distance, I may opt for the more economical Parcel Post. If you are in a hurry for your item, please let me know. Items are always sent with a confirmation, tracking number. INTERNATIONAL shipping has been estimated on most items. Although, I have not always done this if the item is very large or heavy. It is not the case that I will not ship to you, but because international shipping can be so expensive, it is best if you contact me with your exact location. CUSTOMS: My local postmaster is a friend. Unless you are really sending a present to a third party, please do NOT ask me to lie to her about whether or not my package is a gift. Any customs charges are the responsibility of the international buyer. If you are used to shopping with me locally feel free to order here. I will refund the shipping costs and arrange with you for pickup. I often use the location of my former brick and mortar shop for ease in pickup. It is now run by a new shopkeeper and is called The Purple Pirate, but has regular hours.
I accept Paypal and money orders for on-line Etsy orders. If you don't have a Paypal account and want to pay with your credit card, Etsy also offers a direct check out through them. Since Etsy has added this feature, I no longer take direct credit card payments myself.
I am always willing to work with a buyer in regards to payment, but communication is everything. Please contact me if you have special circumstances. Otherwise, I expect payment at the time of your order. If I do not hear from you within three (3) days of receiving your order,and payment is not made within that time, I reserve the right to cancel the sale and relist the item(s) for sale. New Yorkers should be prepared to pay sales tax. It is automatically added by Paypal when you check out.
I am also always happy to hold any special orders for you. But, because a lot of my items are seasonal, I cannot reserve items indefinitely. In most cases, I cannot hold any items for longer than 10 days.Special Order pickup is expected at time of completion unless other arrangements are made. Items held for longer than 10 days may be taken off of reserve and sold.
Returns & exchanges
I want you to love your item (s). And, if for any reason, you don't, I will gladly take it back and refund the purchase price. All I ask is that you notify me immediately (same day) upon receipt. After notification, the exchange or return must happen within a thirty day period from original shipping date. Sorry, but shipping costs cannot be refunded.
AVAILABILITY: In the warmer months, I participate with a brick and mortar shop. If an item suddenly disappears, it is probably because it has sold locally. Keep in mind that each basket is a one of kind and may not be able to be duplicated.
However, I do a lot of custom orders and I am always happy to work with you to create the perfect basket. Do keep in mind though, that mine is a very labor intensive craft and it can take weeks to fill your request. It all depends on my work load and the size of your request. ORDER EARLY! The largest baskets will typically take 4-6 weeks. I am sorry, but because the baskets take so long to make and I have two shops to fill (on-line and my own brick and mortar), I am unable to offer wholesale or quantity discounts. This includes offers of consignment. I am also unable to trade. That blurs the line between personal and business and gets confusing for my bookkeeping.

SPECIAL DISCLAIMER NOTE: I do not live or work in a controlled environment. Both my shop and my home are over 100 years old. Both have a constant stream of visitors, some of them unruly. In the case of my home, this includes way too many men and twenty something boys. There is always something cooking on the stove, harvested herbs hang from the rafters, fruit and nuts are always on the table, and I often photograph with them... and I have a personal fondness for peanuts. Recently, I spent the morning wrangling a bird out of my studio. We have pets, which includes horses. We heat our home with wood and a fireplace both of which can produce smoke. My studio also has a wood stove. I also work with a lot of vintage and reclaimed items whose origins, history, and content will never be known. And, like a squirrel, I routinely, gather, stash and use natural finds. These include, but are not limited to, nuts, berries, acorns, pinecones, antlers, moss, fungi, twigs, bark, vine, seashells, and pebbles. If you have severe allergies, I would rather lose a sale than cause you any distress. So, if any of this concerns you, I may not be the seller for you. In short, if you need to ask if I am pet free, smoke free, synthetic free, vegan, hypoallergenic, or fat free...assume that I am not.
