Wisterias, 2-Ply handspun yarn was hand spun by myself from extra fibres after carding my batts, hence, they are sort of OOAK! They are 100% wool either from one type or mix of merino, Shetland, Corriedale, Falkland, Polwarth or BFL.
Since the yardage is not that much, it can be used in small knitting/crochet projects. Can also use for weaving, scrape booking, trimmings, lariats, jewelry making, tassle, dolls hair etc.
Yarn measurements are all approximate and since it’s a handspun, there are variations in the WPI.
General Info: ************** Colouring: Almost all my fibers are hand dyed by me using food colours except for certain unobtainable ones especially deep blue or blood red where i used commercially dyed ones. As for browns and black, i am using Shetland, Corriedale, German/French Merino and Black Welsh Mountain. The dyeing technique applied here is the same as acid dyes where vinegar (i used corn) is used and heat is applied to set the colours. I then washed them in liquid hand wash and triple rinse in cool water. They are dried in direct sunlight for a couple of hours and then under shade till they are completely dried and fluff up.
Care: Pls hand wash your finished projects with cool water and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight. As for colourfastness, I cannot guarantee that it will last forever but I definitely can assure you that it won’t fade that fast!
Studio: My smoke free home is my studio and i have 7 cats and a kitten. Though my cats don't play or lay on my fibres, but please be aware if you have allergies. I kept all my fibres/finished products in zip sealed bag in containers away from my cats in my ventilated storage room.
Shipping: I will ship all orders on every TUESDAY only cuz i find this is a perfect day! Reasons: Monday, too hectic. Wednesday, mid week. Thursday and Friday, towards weekend so the package will just sit in the storage of the post office till next week. Saturday and Sunday, post office is closed!
