This pattern is a great combination of pieces from Dress Alternatives by McCall's, for a week long interchangeable wardrobe. It contains four essential pieces which can be intermixed or even made up in different colours and types of fabric. All the pieces are easy to make and are comfortable and stylish to wear. These designs will suit many different shapes and also features the McCall's SELECT-S-SIZE system which allows you to choose a different size for the tops and bottoms. This system helps when you have a smaller or larger bust in proportion to your hips and/or waist. This means you can be 10 up the top and 14 down the bottom and the pattern allows you to modify the sizes to do that. All of the instructions for that are inside.
This really is a great pattern with classic comfort design and easy to make construction. Ideal if you only make a few things a year. Comes in sizes 10, 12, 14 (BUST 83cm, 87cm, 92cm - WAIST 64cm, 67cm, 71cm - HIPS 88cm, 92cm, 97cm). This is a relaxed fit pattern. PETITE-ABLE which means you have options to shorten in the waist, hip and legs if you are shorten than 5ft 5in.
Pattern modification options:
If you know how to shorten hems, you can shorten the pant into a short. If you are not comfortable with button down dresses (which can sometimes gape around the bust or hips and waist), you can turn the button stand into a mock button stand by omitting the button holes, straight stitching the button stand in place by crossing over and stitching both overlapping edges down, then sewing the buttons through both sides. Or you can leave the buttons off altogether. You may also omit the sleeves from the long dress and jacket and make up in a lighter fabric for a more summery wardrobe.
