About this Voigtlander Avus 9x12 cm (3 1/4 x 4 3/4 inch) folding plate:

This camera produced in Germany by Voigtlander in different versions from 1919 to 1935 . All knobs, levers, buttons, hinges and sliders work perfectly. Please note that only the fast speeds function and will require a cleaning to have all speeds operate properly. Avus is embossed on the handle. Voigtlander is embossed on the back viewing door, and Germany is embossed on the top of camera next to the pop-up metal viewfinder. Voigtlander is engraved in white on the inside of the front door. This camera is all original and is very nice to look at. All specifications function (no slow speeds as I have mentioned). Serial numbers of lens, shutter and camera body are clearly indicated on camera.

Operation how to use camera:

To open camera: by pressing the button opposite the handle and gently pull the bellows with the nickle plated hardware .

To close camera: camera lens should be centered making certain that all knobs are adjusted centering the bellows, push the bellows inwards by grasping the two finger grips inside of case and push down on hinges, then raise the bed and closing hearing a snap.

Condition of this camera*:

This is a very well made camera and appears to be in very good condition considering the age. The shutter snaps, however only at fast speeds, and probably requires a cleaning. There are some minor blemishes on the leather covering and are attributed to age, all leather covering is original.
lens looks very clean front and back, no marks, scratches or fungus
*speeds function in the "i" position and only on fast speeds
aperture blades are clean opening and closing as they should in the "B and T" position
bellows look to be in a very good condition with no tears or pin holes
viewfinder is clear spirit level is operating
ground glass is in great condition
The body is fully covered in black leather with a very attractive rectangular design, there are a few surface blemishes attributed to age.
Overall it appears that this camera actually had very little use.

The film holders. There are a few that look to have been bent when they were trying to load or unload film.
The blackout cloth looks like it is brand new. It measures 36" x 36". No holes or rips.
The adapter back looks to be in brand condition.
The carrying case is excellent shape and say it is made in Austria.
The shutter release cord works fine.
