2 skeins of hand dyed perle cotton size 8. Each skein is approx. 25 metres (27.5 yards).
These lovely skeins were inspired by some little gourds which we came across while out walking this autumn. I just loved the colours and used them as my starting point for dyeing these skeins.
One skein is a lovely variety of different oranges blending into burnt umber with hints of mustards and olive greens. All sorts of colours you find on pumpkins and gourds. The other skein is a bright green with patches of lemon yellow and occasional threads which are so pale they're almost white, but not quite.
Together they so remind me of autumn and I'm so pleased with how they turned out.
The threads have been dyed by me using MX Procion dyes.
I use the threads myself to hand quilt my own quilts and thought that other quilters and embroiderers would love to use these threads too.
I've never had any problem with colour fastness. I rinse all the threads very thoroughly and I consider them colourfast when washed up to 30 degrees centigrade.
