This pattern creates a scrumptious, super simple blanket that my grandchildren simply go nuts over. I used a bulky weight yarn (approximately 2200 yards) and size 10 needles to knit this up very quickly. Including the ruffle, it is approximately 40" X 70". The blanket is knit sideways, there are only 15 stitches that are ever on the needles so I typically use 2 double pointed needles. The first pattern I saw using this technique required the creator to sew the strips together after all had been knit. However, I knit the strips and attach them as I go. That way, once the blanket is finished, it is really finished. Then I add the fun fur to the seam lines for extra fun!! On my featured product, the pink and yellow, I used about 400 yards of fun fur or six skeins.
