This lot contains hundreds of beads, from tiny seed beads, to small striped pony beads, to millefiori Venetian beads for the African trade and African sand-cast beads, to giant Copal, Bauxite, and Carnelian beads (photos 2 and 8). These beads range in age from probably the mid-19th century to now.
Most of the older beads -- pony beads (some also in photo 3), Kancamba beads, antique Venetian beads, along with some imitations, are shown in photo 4. There is a large number of Venetian Awale beads (photo 5). There are a few 'trade bead style" beads made recently in India and Indonesia (photo 6). There are also large chevron and other beads, mostly imitating antique Venetian beads (photo 7). There are two large bags of Fimo beads (photo 9). Photo 10 shows a dainty bracelet of modern Venetian millefiori beads. There are also small bags of glass beads and some bone beads, including some long ones. Some of the glass beads come from mid-century vintage necklaces. There are a few metal beads and findings as well.
