Item details

This Ihagee Exakta is a classic German Single Lens Reflex Camera (SLR) from the 1950s.

It is a fully manual camera without an internal light meter. The camera winds properly and when the shutter button is pushed it appears to work.

It is in beautiful shape for its age and is very well made (after all it is a German Camera). The shutter speeds are a bit off and the lower shutter speeds sometimes stick, meaning it might need some tunning from a professional).

This camera company was one of the first to produce SLR cameras ever!
A fine vintage early German Ihagee Exakta V 35mm camera circa 1950.

Shutter speeds to 1/1000th of a second.

Film cutting knife for removing a partial roll of film.

This was a high-end camera at the time, favored by the medical community for camera stand work.

A huge number of high-end German lenses were available for these cameras including Zeiss, Steinheil-Munchen and Schneider Kreuznach.

Comes with a detachable waist level view finder. This viewfinder can be detached to replace with an eye level view finder or other attachments (sold separately).

Body shows very little wear with some micro scratches here and there.
The back plate is a bit rough as shown in the photos.

Eye level prism finder is clean and cleared out.

The mirror is a bit hazy, but you can see clearly through the viewfinder.

Shutter winds and fires fine for all speeds down to 1/50th including Bulb. However, 1/25th of a second seems to get stuck when the shutter curtain fires.

Shutter curtains are smooth and light-tight.

Film advance is very smooth and strong.

Includes LENS:

Carl ZEISS Jena Biotar 1:2 / 58mm in wonderful condition: Smooth focus, bright barrel showing light oxidation, crystal clear glass. Aperture blades clean and dry.

The camera does not require any battery to operate.

Takes 35mm color or black and white film.

What you see is what you get.
There is a scratch on the front top, the mirror has a lot of age, and some dings on the camera.
