Item details

This pen measures five and a three quarter inches in length. It will take any standard push in nib, but NO nib is supplied as this is such a personal preference. This listing is for the holder only. (The ink bottles and nibs are for illustration only and are not included in the sale) The nibs can be easily obtained online or from local stationers. Although we use universal inserts in our pens, we have discovered that they aren't usually suitable for Zebra comic type nibs so please be aware when ordering if you use these.

This lovely piece of Box wood came from a tree growing in the gardens of Girton College, Cambridge. It came to us via a friend who was working on site when the tree was being managed.

Occasionally we do buy rare or exotic woods, but only from carefully managed woodlands and for the most part our wood come in small quantities from friends managing their own gardens and even occasionally from old buildings during the course of renovation and restoration. Over the years we have become known locally for collecting interesting woods to work with and many people in the area now save pieces for us. We mainly make small items, such as these pens, so we can make the most of small off-cuts and branch trimmings without needing to take down whole trees for our work.

As a natural material there will be small imperfections in the grain of the wood. This is considered a unique factor in handmade products and should be expected.

I believe that these beautiful things should be within the reach of anyone who has appreciation of their beauty and so I try to keep pricing reasonable for an individually hand-crafted item. We don't produce hundreds all to the same pattern. Each item in my store is crafted with care and as such no two items can be identical. The photo shows the pen that you will be receiving.

Turned by my father, wood-turner Ralph Carpenter in rural Cambridgeshire.

Average review
Really love this nib holder, it is really lovely and beautifully crafted. Feels great. I would add a picture here, only I am unsure how to do that. But would absolutely recommended this seller and her products without hesitation. The nib holder arrived ( 3 days ago) much sooner than anticipated and was boxed beautifully also. Thank you so much 😀💜 really lovely.
