You will receive four sheets of Spectrum or Uroborus System 96 sheet glass in the size, color and transparency indicated. This glass is compatible with all of the System 96 products for consistently good results in fusing and other art glass pursuits.
Spectrum System 96 Color Charts & Fusing Schedules are available via links on this page. Just click a link on the left under Store Pages.
Size: 12" square or larger and 3mm thick. These are hand-cut and can vary by up to 1/8". Expect an occasional side or corner chip. They are unavoidable. Sheets that are more than 1/8" short on one side or with a large chip or badly-cut factory side are sold at a discount under the "shorties" classification. Our standards are picky!
Glass markings: All glass is marked either with a Spectrum factory sticker or in silver Sharpie for your convenience. Silver "Sharpie" is easily removed with rubbing alcohol or window cleaner.
COE: 96 This glass can be mixed and fused with any glass that is the same COE. COE measures how quickly a glass expands and contracts during the fusing processes. All glass that is "melted" or fused into a single piece must be compatible.
Transparency/classification: Please note the transparency classification for each glass sheet listed in the item specifics at the top of the page.
Variations: It is important that you know that each batch of sheet glass is individually made. Solid color glass can vary slightly in color from batch to batch, so we mark it carefully to avoid confusion. The stock photos shown here are a sample representations of the glass you will receive. THEY ARE NOT PHOTOGRAPHS of the individual sheets you will receive. We have tried photographing the glass in our own studio and find that the images (courtesy of Spectrum) give the best representation of the glass. These show very true to color on my monitor, but your monitor may vary.
Multi-color glass, including Streakies, Opal Art and Spirit Glass will vary the most, which is the awesome thing about buying these hand-made sheets. Each of these sheets is hand-cast and each is different. Spirit glass is often photographed at an angle but the sheet you will receive will have a horizontal pattern. Spirit glass has "stripes" which may run across the bottom or top of your glass sheet.

Spectrum offers a broad line of specially formulated "Tested Compatible" glass for the Hot-Glass arts. These products have been Expansion-Matched to a nominal C.O.E. of 96 then factory-tested for fusing compatibility. Each glass has been carefully formulated for multi-fire devit resistance. Though they may look the same as their stained glass products, Spectrum "Tested Compatible" glasses are fundamentally different in their basic chemistry, designed to deliver an excellent working range and superior stability for glass fusing, slumping and other Hot-Glass pursuits.
