Item details

Make your own little piggy for someone special in your life. Make your own Piper Pig for unique gift for a baby shower or child's birthday. The body of the pig will fit a 1.5" diameter rattle insert (some are for sale in this shop). The tail is made as part of the body (you don't sew them on!), making it even more durable for kids.

To obtain the approximate measurements, use worsted weight yarn and a 3.50mm crochet hook. But to make a large or smaller pig, simply use a bulky weight yarn and a 4.50mm-5.00mm hook for a large pig, or sport weight yarn and a 2.50mm crochet hook.

Approximate measurements: 4.5" long, 3" tall

** What you should know **

The Piper Pig pictured were made with worsted weight (size 4) acrylic yarn from Red Heart, however you can use any size yarn (will affect final size) or any type yarn. The Silver Hook likes to use acrylic yarn for babies since it is stain resistant and durable yarn.

Love the pattern, it is very clear. For the bp sc I watched the video at www.youtube.com for a good understanding of that stitch. For a bit extra I added nostrils.
