Heads up! The newborn size of this pattern is out for FREE on my blog: www.brittstitch.com. Along with a tutorial. You can search for it under the knitting tab. If that's the size you're looking for or you want to try it out before buying go grab it there first. ;)
You will receive a digital PDF file to print off at home. Note: this is the pattern only, not a finished bonnet.
The Mini-dot pixie bonnet features a ribbed edge on all edges, braided ties, and an optional pom pom. The mini-dot bobble is smaller than a traditional bobble making it a perfect subtle texture for a baby's bonnet.
The pattern sizing is as follows: Newborn: 12”-13” 0-3 Months: 13”-14” 3-6 Months: 15”-17” 6-12 Months: 18”-20” 1-3 Years: 20”-22” 3-7 Years: 22”-24"
To make this bonnet you will need to know how to knit, purl, knit in the back of a stitch, pick up stitches, and decrease stitches. There is also a three-needle bind off, (which, for you beginners, sounds much scarier than it actually is).
Great for newborn photo props, family pictures, baby shower gifts, and warm winter hats for your babies.
As soon as I tried knitting a bobble I was sold. I love to make them as much as I love the texture and fun element they give to any knitting project. I knew right then, I had to put one on a baby bonnet, but I also knew the traditional size bobble was too big. After some trial and error, I found a way to make the bobble smaller and make it easy for anyone to knit. I wanted this to be a simple pattern that could be beginner friendly and look professional. I love the outcome and I hope you do too!
so enjoyed making this adorable pixie hat from a well written pattern.
