This is an original copy of the 1945 Pattern Alteration Booklet issued by The Bureau of Human Nutrition and Home Economics. It was issued as Farmers' Bulletin number 1968 by the US Department of Agriculture.
The United States Department of Agriculture Farmers' Bulletins were produced to disseminate information about agricultural topics. This wartime publication demonstrates the efforts made to conserve materials back home. Issued just prior to the end of World War II, this would have been one of the final Bulletins issued relating to wartime efforts.
The text was written by Margaret Smith, a prominent women's fashion designer best known for her iconic floral printed handbags that were most popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
No pages missing and minimal wear and tear on this antique make it perfect for framing, display or use. Some minor wear on the edges (pictured) but no tears or damage to the pages.
This is an original vintage publication; it is not a PDF, instant download, or a reproduction. For additional Vintage Sewing Patterns, visit my CURRATED COLLECTION: Vintage Sewing http://etsy.me/2ggldVs
