1 skein of hand dyed size 5 eygptian perle cotton. A skein is approx. 25 metres.
I love these two skeins, for me they have captured every colour which you can find in the woods in the autumn. Maybe it's because I live here on the coast where we don't really have much autumn colour that this year I've been dyeing my own. These two skeins are perfect examples of the serendipitous nature of hand dyeing; I put on the dyes carefully and sometimes real magic happens like in these two skeins and there are an array of colours which I never imagined I would get.
I use the threads myself to hand quilt my own quilts and thought that other quilters and embroiderers would love to use these threads too.
I've never had any problem with colour fastness. I rinse all the threads very thoroughly and I consider them colourfast when washed up to 30 degrees centigrade. On a personal note I rinse all the threads at a much hotter temperature and I wash my own quilts in the washing machine at 40 degrees.
