Hand dyed, 75% Australian merino wool, 20% bamboo, 5% silk yarn. Base yarn is Merino Lustre Sock - a fine blend of wool, silk and bamboo with a distinctive twist and pearly sheen.
Wallpaper Roses combines magenta, scarlet, persimmon and plum "roses" along with splashes of fresh green on a soft, warm grey background. When knitted up this reminds me of floral chintz sofas, and of course the floral wallpaper in "the good room" of an old fashioned home.
Duck Feet Sock Yarn is a wonderfully smooth yarn. It has a firm twist and is incredibly soft and silky - so it works really well for baby clothes too. The addition of 20% nylon makes it hard wearing and it launders well.
Sometimes I toss my socks made from this base in the washing machine and they come out unharmed, as long as the water is cool or luke warm. Still, I'd suggest that the first few washes be done by hand. See "CARE" below for more information.

CARE - although this is a superwash yarn, I always recommend hand washing.
All my yarn is carefully rinsed after dyeing, but some colour may appear in the washing water of your first few washes. Although this will not fade the colour of your yarn, it tints the water, and could colour other items in the same wash.
Hand washing in luke warm water and an approved wool wash will avoid cross staining and help your knitwear look beautiful for longer.
Dry flat in the shade, away from direct heat.
BATCHES AND DYE LOTS - As a result of the hand-dyeing process, each skein will be slightly different even if they were dyed in the same batch. If you order more than one skein, all the skeins you receive will be from the same batch.
When knitting with multiple skeins, alternating skeins between rows will even out any variation.
Your order will be posted 1 - 2 business days after it is received. I post all days except Sunday.
Orders within Australia are sent by Parcel Post which includes a tracking number that I'll send to you when your item is posted.
Australian orders can be upgraded to Express Post by purchasing the appropriate "Australian Postage Upgrade" item from my shop. These orders will be dispatched from Melbourne City, Monday to Friday. For this service, any order placed before 6pm AEST will be dispatched the following weekday.

Any customs or duties in your own country are your responsibility, and I recommend you check with your local postal authorities if you have any concerns.
Customs slips will be completed with the correct description and value of your purchase and I will not mark the item as a "gift" or understate the value to avoid duties.

Returns & exchanges
In accordance with Australian consumer law, I do not accept returns for “change of mind”. All items are checked thoroughly before sending, but if you feel the yarn you have received is faulty or misrepresented, please contact me so I can arrange a replacement. (I will ask you to return the item you are unhappy with first).
I do not offer a refund for items missing in the mail. If I can’t trace your item and make sure it gets to you, I will replace it. I do not offer replacements if you have given me the wrong address.
Please contact me as soon as possible if you think your item is lost in the mail so we can work together to make sure you get your yarn.
Wherever possible I source my base yarn from Australian growers and spinners - this yarn will be described as 100% Australian grown and spun.
Some fibres are not commercially produced in Australia (like silk) so I source these from overseas.
All yarn is hand-dyed by me using water saving dyeing techniques. All waste water is neutralised and re-used or recycled.
