Portuguese Knitting Pin Pendant set on a black silk cord necklace, so beautiful it can be worn as jewelry.
Some knitters prefer using a pendant hook rather than a stationary pin hook for several reasons: A pendant hook centers the yarn over your needles. It will not pull on your clothing. No worries about loosing an attaching magnet.
Measurements: - Silk cord necklace is approximately 20" - Yarn hook extends 3" from the necklace cord
Yarn Hook Drop: This Portuguese Knitting Pin is designed to have a longer drop between the headpin and the hook than most traditional pins. The longer drop adds a slight weight to the tensioned the yarn which helps hold it in place while the stitch is worked. If you'd prefer a shorter drop, please contact me. I can adjust the drop length by removing beads.
Packaging: Comes mounted on a presentation card and wrapped in a reusable handcrafted gift box. Gift boxes are individually made and may vary in color and design. Photo is representive of varieties.
What is Portuguese Knitting: Portuguese knitting is a traditional knitting technique from South America for tensioning the working yarn while knitting. Yarn is tensioned over a yarn hook which is attached to either a pin or necklace. Portuguese Knitting is quickly becoming a favorite technique in America thanks in large part to the wonderful tutorials on You Tube and Pinterest. Not only is this technique a fun and fast way to knit and purl, it is incredibly gentle on hands, wrists, fingers and shoulders. The Portuguese knitting technique allows you to knit for hours without pain. If you suffer from arthritis or carpel tunnel syndrome, please check into Portuguese Knitting.
