Item details

From the finest fleece of my very own Fabulous Flock of shetland sheep. This yarn has been carefully selected for fitness and quality, and then worsted, which is to remove the shortest fibres resulting in a softer, stronger yarn. This yarn is spun in the uk. The natural undyed colour is a beautiful rich chocolate brown. Perfect for crochet or knitting. Also available in DK weight.

"Shetland Wool, taking all its properties together, is perhaps the completest article of the kind in the universe, possessing at the same time, the gloss and softness of silk, the strength of cotton, the whiteness of linen, and the warmth of wool."
Sir John Sinclair
September 22, 1790

Wool from the shetland sheep is used to make the famous fair isle knit wear. It is soft and strong, ideal for hats or sweaters.

Our flock is much loved and well tended. They are pure bred shetland pedigree (registered with the shetland sheep society). The Fabulous Flock are from Wales, UK. 100% pure shetland wool from The Fabulous Flock.
