This is a 1958 Simplicity Pattern No. 2196 for a One Yard Skirt (pencil skirt style). “Simple to Make.”
ONE YARD SKIRTS: all views are Simple-to-Make and have zipper in left side seam. V. 1 Right front lapse over left, is top-stitched and forms simulated fly-front. Button-trimmed flaps detail front west line each side of center. V. 2 and 3 have back kick-pleat. V. 2 has button-trim tabs at front waistband and soft pleats at front waistline. V. 3 has darts at front waistline.
This pattern has been cut and lovingly used and cared for. Eight pieces given; all pieces present and intact. Envelope shows signs of wear, consistent with age--a tear across top (see photos), some tatters, writing, and tanning.
