Item details

Traditionally held in the flintlock cock jaws of a Musket rifle during the 1700s and 1800s. The flint helped produce the spark which fired the musket. Interestingly, each piece of flint was typically only good for between 20 and 30 firings before deteriorating or splitting. So it makes since that each soldier, was expected to carry many spare flints with them.
This particular flint piece was found in Europe on the Iberian Peninsula by a metal detector enthusiast.
Great piece for any collector of military memorabilia. And can even be used in a craft project.
