Help cancer patients with a knitted cap to comfort and cover hair loss from chemo. This downloadable project plan includes everything you need to create a knit hat for a highly screened nonprofit.

According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 14.5 million people have had cancer in their lifetime. Chemotherapy is used in treating many of these cancers - which means hairloss and much discomfort. According to Knots of Love, our Aina-approved partner organization, “chemotherapy drugs cause heads to become tender and heads tend to become sore after a long day of wearing a wig." Give not only comfort but the support and love of the whole community with these amazing, soft handmade caps.

This project includes resource links, an overview of the issue, and the details on Knots of Love, the Aina-Approved organization you are helping. BONUS: This project also contains a Lesson Plan for you teachers and community organizers! This craft is easy enough for children as small as 10 to tackle. It's the perfect craft for any parent, civic group, or church leader. This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce the idea of cancer and patient care, learn knitting to help fine motor skills, and do something very positive for these amazing friends that are battling cancer.

You will receive a download with all of the steps to create a hand-knit cap for chemo patients.
An Information Sheet about the issue and the Aina-approved organization, a Resource Sheet, and Hostess How-To Guides (for group organizers) are included. BONUS: This project includes a Lesson Plan for Teachers and Community Organizers
This project falls under the Cause Category of: Health/Cancer
Resource links, related books, websites, videos, and films are also included - Aina projects are excellent for playdates, book clubs, and ladies nights in!
