Inside a walled garden with a creaking door, there are herbs, flowers, twisted trees, and stunted shrubs shrouded in mist and shadow. Somewhere nearby, a frog croaks, accompanied by crickets and the occasional hoot of an owl, and a lithe black cat snoozes on a crumbling stone bench covered with a green velvet shawl. Welcome to the Witch's Garden.
Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's short story "Rapaccini's Daughter", and by the folklore of Europe and North America, the yarn club will consist of six monthly shipments containing exclusive colorways and unusual surprises. You may choose sparkly or un-sparkly base yarn. Shipping for all six shipments is included in the price.
All the base yarns will be fingering/sock weight, consisting of superwash wool blended with nylon, and all colorways will be exclusive to the club. Sign-ups conclude in February, or when all the slots are filled. The first shipment will drop in mid-March 2018. If you're concerned about allergies, I will happily make changes or substitutions to the extras to accommodate you.
Shipping within the United States will be either via USPS Parcel Post or Priority, depending on the weight of the package. Shipping to destinations outside the US will be done as economically as possible; customers outside the US will also be responsible for VAT and/or any customs-related fees.
I now accept both Paypal and direct checkout. Vermont customers will be charged 6% sales tax.
Returns & exchanges
Refunds will only be issued in the event of order cancellation and any damage to your items or if they're lost in transit, stolen by aliens, or eaten by dinosaurs. This applies to spinning fiber as well as yarn, with the exception of yarn that is unwound and partially used or spinning fiber that has been unpacked, prepped for spinning, and/or partly spun.
Custom spinning orders: I can only handle fiber in amounts up to a pound since--gasp!--I'm only one person. In order to get custom yarn spun, from start to finish the process takes at least a week between the actual spinning and the soaking/drying/finishing. If you're not sure about what's involved or have any questions about either the process or what I can and can't do with fiber, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm here to share information as well as my skills.
If you'd prefer your yarn not to be soaked in scented Eucalan, please indicate this in the Notes section when you place your order.
