Item details

This is a great vintage item used in a library during the 1950s-1960s. The Electro-Pencil sold by Gaylord Bros. Inc. was a standard supply in the library. An early version was introduced in 1927 and was heated with a light bulb. This pencil is plugged in and allowed to heat up. The colored tapes are held in place on the spine of the book and the pen is used to write the call numbers and cutter letters on the spine of the book. This is a great tool for scrap bookers to do the same thing on paper pages in scrapbooks. This kit includes the pen in original box with a long cord having a black Bakelite on off switch. It also has instructions and 1 extra fine removable tip. There are partial rolls of gold and silver metallic tape, 2 rolls of red tape, and 2 rolls of black tape, and 1 roll of white tape. This should be enough to last the rest of your life. This is a very serviceable tool from bygone days. It works perfectly, surely you can find a use for it.
