This is a striking small mineral specimen featuring a single isometric Galena crystal, perched atop a small platform of mixed matrix. The galena crystal displays geometric lines, which are structural yet imperfect (abrasions are present). The crystal displays faces with varying luster, some quite muted and some more shiny. The miniature specimen has a graphic and structural appeal. This small cluster is an earthy and striking Bulgarian specimen, and would offer a lot of beauty to any specimen collection!
Locality: Bulgaria Dimensions: 1.25” x 1.25” x 1.0” (31mm x 31mm x 26mm) Weight: 42 g (1.5 oz)
Galena is a lead sulfide, and forms high density, low hardness cubic shapes. Freshly exposed surfaces are very lustrous, but luster diminishes over time as specimen is exposed to oxygen. Quartz is silicon dioxide, and is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth.
*Note: Do not lick or ingest any part of these metallic minerals--wash hands after handling.
Healing: Galena is believed to assist during inner journeys and Shamanic work, and chalcopyrite is thought to aid in finding lost objects. Quartz has been used for general healing and clarity for millennia.
