This varigated colorway is part of my Japan collection: Tokyo Shrine
When you travel through Japan, visiting one of the most populated cities on the planet, the bustling city seems endless. Still, no matter how dense the city, or how tall the buildings, you were never far from one of these beautiful shrines. It feels like you've stepped away from the city, and into a spiritual sanctuary. The warm glow of lanterns shining gold through ecru paper onto rich red walls, with shining black beams, feels like complete respite from the sprawling concrete and neon lights. These colors take me back to that place.
I've used a vibrant red next to jet black, and laid a foundation of soft yellow speckled with glowing gold to recreate this scene. Photos were taken in natural lighting, but monitor displays may alter the appearance of some colors. Each skein is hand dyed to order, so some variance is possible even among the same dye lot.
For a sample of what it looks like worked up, I've included images of my favorite project done with this yarn :) It is mostly double crochet.
Handmade wool garments should always be hand washed in lukewarm water with a small amount of soap. Avoid excessive washing to prevent felting. Some red color may bleed, as is to be expected with any red garment, but will not alter other colors in the yarn.
Yarn is typically mailed in a hank, or you can message me to have it wound into a center pull ball for no extra charge.
Please message me if you'd like to order this colorway in other yarn weights or in bulk.
