This item is a Stanley Two-Tone plane. It is in very good condition with some age patina some slight surface rust on the iron and a few specks of paint on the knob and tote. See photo's. From a little research i found out that the Two-Tone planes were made for National Hardware Conventions in the years 1940/1941 and 1950/1951. This plane is from the 1950/51 years because of the words Two-Tone by Stanley and because the words By Stanley are in script. But please do your own research. It is 9 and 3/8 inches long with a 2 inch iron. On the body cast behind the knob is, " MADE IN USA " and on the body underneath the frog is cast, " C73 ". On the front of the frog there is the letter, " U ". On the back of the lever cap is the letter, " U ". On the front of the iron is stamped, " TWO-TONE By Stanley " the "By Stanley" being in script and also underlined. Both of the nuts holding the tote and knob are made of brass. NOTE. I think the best way to ship this plane would be by using a USPS Medium Flat Rate Box. The cost would be $13.60 anywhere in the USA mainland. I always refund any overcharges with shipping costs the same time day the item is shipped.
