This set of six natural horn buttons comes from the Austrian Alpine region where they were used for traditional clothing like hunting jackets, Lederhosen and Dirndl dresses. The buttons are made from natural deer antlers and date to the 1940s. They are in very good vintage condition, with just one of the buttons showing a bit of dye on the underside. im not sure how that color spot got on there, but maybe it came from a leaking fountain pen? (I decided to include this button anyway because the top of it is so great and the ink is only visible if you turn the button around).
Please note: these buttons are made from actual stag antlers and each button is unique in size and appearance due to the natural irregularities appearing in the horn. Also, it’s best to wash these buttons by hand and use gentle detergents.
They measure approx 1/2 - 2/3”. You will receive six (6) buttons.
100% customer satisfaction is my goal but please note: the items in my shop are vintage and handmade which means they show light wear or imperfection. EVEN IN EXCELLENT CONDITION ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE ITEMS WILL SHOW SOME SIGNS OF WEAR AND USAGE. THEY ARE NOT NEW BUT HAVE BEEN OWNED AND LOVED BY SOMEONE ELSE BEFORE YOU WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY THEY ARE SO CHARMING AND SPECIAL. The colors shown can vary depending on your computer. I will try to give detailed descriptions and detailed photos, but if you are unsure, please contact me. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
All vintage items should be treated with utmost care when cleaning. I recommend doing a bit of research before attempting to use over the counter jewelry cleaners as they could damage vintage items.
