I prefer not to join yarns since everyone has their own favorite way of making joins. As a result my skeins may be a bit smaller than those found elsewhere, but this gives you the chance to do your own joins, and to also purchase exactly the amount of yarn that you want. In addition, there are often small amounts of yarn that are not worth listing for sale. I will often include some of this extra yarn in with your purchase so that you have a bit extra to work with (just in case...).
I carefully select sweaters and gently pull them apart to reclaim the yarn. After taking the sweater apart, I wind the yarn, wash it in a mild detergent, and gently dry it. I can also wind the yarn into a center pull ball if you prefer - just send me a message to let me know you'd like me to do this before sending the yarn out. If you have severe allergies, reclaimed yarn might not be right for you. My home is smoke free, but cat friendly, and I do not know the history of the yarn before I purchased it.
Recycling yarn is a great way to get high quality yarn for your knitting/crocheting needs without the high price tag associated with new yarn. I started doing this as a more affordable way to feed my own knitting habit. I hope that you will enjoy this yarn, and share pictures after you have refashioned it into something new!
