Great Chrysocolla slab in mainly Robin's egg blue and quartz (clear to white) make up this interesting slab. Patterns of quartz integrate together with the Chrysocolla in the stone giving a really nice visual effect. The mixture of soothing color and shading give the piece charm. The stone left in its natural state with no known fill - a nice solid piece of Chrysocolla and Quartz. This slab has no visible fracturing and appears stable with great cabochon potential. Our slabs are generally shown wet to show the eventual polished potential, though this one has been left dry for the photographs. The stone has been left natural with no treatments or fillers. Slabs are sold 'as is' as shown in the photos, no substitutions.
This slab weighs 8.2 grams (41.0 carats) and measures 46 mm x 36 mm x 3.8 mm. Measurements are approximate and are measured from the widest or longest points of the stone; thickness is measured in the middle. The Mohs scale of hardness on Chrysocolla ranges from 2.5 to 3.5.
Chrysocolla is a byproduct of copper, a hydrated copper spertniite and chalcedony, ranging from light greens to deep blues - often found with Malachite, Azurite, Cuprite, Limonite and Quartz. The highest grade of Chrysocolla is Gem Silica, a crystallized form infused in Quartz. Chrysocolla can be found in numerous locations around the world including Indonesia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chile, Israel, England and the USA.
Chrysocolla is believed to be the stone of communication, devoted to expression, empowerment and teaching. It can discharge negative energies, calm, and allow inner wisdom to surface. It is a peaceful stone that encourages compassion and strengthens character. It promotes prosperity, business astuteness, and stimulates the mind while relaxing emotions. It empowers feminine energies, expressing gentle powers, compassion, peace, forgiveness and strengthens emotional bonds. This is a chosen stone for all forms of artists, musicians, those in the computer industry, designers and inventors. These beliefs are spiritual supporters and not prescriptions or substitutions for medical healthcare.
Natural stones almost always contain surface impurities like fissures, vugs, fractures (healed or fresh). We try to note if there are any surface features you should be aware of and won't knowingly sell a stone without disclosing in the description of such. We try to list pictures showing all surface features or post information if there are surface features you should be aware of.
Please inspect your stones prior to your use to avoid unexpected breaks later. It breaks my heart to see my husband test a slab by putting pressure to a suspected weak spot and sometimes snaps a slab (if it has a weak spot), but, if you don't test it, half way through your cabochon, it could naturally split on you. Better to remove all doubt before starting.
We don't alter the colors in our photographs, though digital photo colors vary between cameras and depending on the lighting where the photos are taken so please view all photos before purchasing. Naturally lighted photos will be provided whenever possible, but some photos are taken indoors. Photos of this piece were taken indoors. My apologies for any glare on any of the photos and the flash has a tendency to wash the colors, therefore, some photos may be with or without flash trying to capture the most lifelike appearance.
