TIPS

1 Most succulents prefer warm temperatures (10C-25C) and are not able to withstand freezing temperatures.
2 Water every 2-4 weeks depending on the plant size, succulents tend to thrive in dry climates and don’t like a lot of humidity.
3 Good sunlight gives succulents more vibrant colours, when succulents are lacking in sunlight they will be dull or green.

WHAT ARE SUCCULENTS?

Succulents are a group of plants that store water in their leaves. The leaves tend to be thick and fleshy, but some genus and species have thicker leaves than others. Succulents tend to thrive in dry climates and don’t like a lot of humidity. As with any other plant, proper watering will ensure the best growth and flowering. While they do need water to survive, they can endure extended periods of drought, relying on the stored water and nutrients in their leaves. If their roots are sitting in water for too long they will start to rot and die.

FAQs

Open the box as soon as possible to let the plant get some air. Leave the plant to dry for 1-2 days before potting. 1. Prepare all tools, pot, soil, tweezers, mini trowel (or tea spoon) 2. Place a small piece of gauze to cover the draniage hole and put some soil into the pot. 3. Gently place the plant in the pot, using your hand or tweezers, then fill in more soil around the plant using the mini trowel.

4. Add some small gravel to the surface of the soil. 5. If the soil is moist, don't water, if the soil is very dry, only water a small amount around the edge of the pot, to moisten the soil. Do not water directly on, or near the plant. 6. Place the potted plant in half shade for 7-10 days to allow it to adapt to it's new environment, after which the plant should be ready for direct sunlight and proper watering.

Temprature 5-10C water once per month. 10-20C water once every 1-2 weeks. Over 20C water once per week.

Sunlight is very important, spring, autum and winter, full day direct sunlight if possible. Be careful in summer incase of sunburn.

If possible, provide good air circulation this will help the soil dry quicker.

Add grit to your soil to ensure good draniage.

You can use a little slow release fertiliser, in the soil, but it is not essential.
