This contented mother with her four suckling babies is a fun toy. She's designed to lie on her size. The piglets may be fastened with snaps or Velcro. The split hooves o the sow may be eliminated if you with to simplify the pattern. Cotton, velours, corduroy, velveteen -- plain, print, batik -- are suitable. Stretch fabric should be lined --- she's already plump enough.
Aardvark to Zebra 's vintage (1980's) stuffed animal patterns are more realistic than cutsy. All pattern pieces were hand-drawn and labeled, with complete instructions, illustrated with hand-drawn construction diagrams. Pattern pieces are full size, printed on one side of !!"x 17" paper, ready to be cut out. Arrows, notches, dots and seam-lines are clearly printed, all referenced in the instructions, so making these animals is easy. There are no construction photos, but a color photo of the finished animal(s) is on the cover, as well as a line- drawing showing seam lines. Many of the patterns have variations, some with more than one animal or the same animal in different sizes. They are a real joy to make and own.
