This super large and perfect sea glass egg was found whilst snorkeling along the beach in St Pierre, Martinique, scene of the 1902 catastrophic volcano eruption which destroyed the entire town and sank every ship in the harbour. Is the piece old enough to have bore witness to the disaster? That we will never know, but it certainly could be...
The last two pictures are an antique shot of St Pierre before the eruption and St Pierre as it is today.
The piece is perfectly frosted and rounded and measures approx. 2" long with a max. diameter of 7/8".
