Item details

Hand spun alpaca yarn. I use the fleece of my own huacaya alpaca herd. It's hand processed from beginning to end, done entirely by myself. After the alpaca is sheared the fleece is sorted, then skirted (cleaned), washed, dyed (or left natural), carded into batts, then hand spun. I'm still a novice when it comes to spinning but I love to create fun combinations of natural and dyed yarn. All yarn is 2 ply, and I would consider it a chunky weight, although sections of it can be closer to a sportweight.

This particular skein is a combination of natural gray alpaca plied with a lighter gray that transitions to softer hues of blue. There is only one skein, but there is another skein that is a continuation of this one that goes to a ply of gray and blue.

This skein is 4.0 ounces
121.67 yards, 2 ply.

I use Jacquard and Dharma Trading Co Acid Dyes.
