Hello and welcome to our shop;)
We are glad to present you one of the new products of our family woodworking shop.
This ergonomic crochet hook was recently hand turned of single domestic Ukrainian wood: European beech ( Fagus sylvatica). "European beech is typically a pale cream color, sometimes with a pink or brown hue. Flatsawn surfaces tend to be very plain, while quartersawn surfaces exhibit a silvery fleck pattern. Grain is straight, with a fine to medium uniform texture. Beech is an important and widely-used hardwood in Europe. Its hardness, wear-resistance, strength make this hardwood a mainstay for many European woodworkers. Depending on soil conditions, European Beech can grow to very large sizes." (from wood-database.com)
The wood is perfectly polished and sealed with safe clear gloss varnish in its Natural color.
The crochet hook on the photo is 7,1" long ( 18 cm) and 0,71" in diameter ( 18 mm), size H = 5 mm. Made in a single copy.
We make ergonomic crochet hooks. An ‘ergonomic’ crochet hook is a hook that is designed to alleviate pain that occurs while crocheting. Most ergonomic hooks have an enlarged handle that can be more comfortable to hold, especially for a long time. We haven’t found much information on exactly why a larger handle alleviates wrist pain while crocheting, but there is much evidence that these types of hooks work. If you’re experiencing tendinitis, arthritis or any other condition that makes crocheting painful… there’s a chance that using an ergonomic hook will provide relief.
THE SHIPPING FOR EACH ADDITIONAL ITEM IS FREE.
We will carefully pack your purchase to avoid any damage during shipping. We will definitely provide you with a tracking number.
Average Ukrposhta delivery terms to the countries of Europe - about 8-18 days, to Canada and the USA - 15- 22 days, to Australia and New Zealand - 3 weeks and more.
You are buying the crochet hook that you see on these photos.
If you need bigger or smaller size, please, let us know and we'll make a special crochet hook for you. Most of custom hand turned crochet hooks could be ready to be shipped in 1-3 days (depending on the wooden blanks available)
There are three simple steps: 1. We discuss the details - wood, shape, color, length and diameter. Then we check if we have necessary blanks and materials to work with. 2. We make the crochet hook(s) and send photos of the result. 3. If you like the result - we make a personal listing and ship your new hook the same or the next day.

Our family workshop produces custom ergonomic crochet hooks from natural wood of various kinds - domestic Ukrainian and exotic - such as Apple-tree wood, Sweet cherry wood, Beech wood, Merbau, Apricot, Bog Oak, Oak, Ash wood, Smoke Tree, Robinia, Hornbeam, Silverberry (Wild Olive), Honey Locust, Cherry, Plum and other varieties. All materials are solid, natural and ecologically safe, woods have fine grain and high density, they are perfectly polished, items are sanded for a mirror finish and sealed with safe gloss or matt varnish or with a special and natural OSMO oil.
Our main ally and inspirer is nature itself, because it creates such a variety of colors and textures, every single piece - with its own pattern, which reveals itself to us only in the process of turning it. That is why we emphasize that each crochet hook is made in a single copy and we can repeat its shape, but the color and pattern of wood can differ - it is created by nature itself, we only reveal it. Hope for your understanding.
We turn crochet hooks of various shapes, and, unfortunately, there is no way they can somehow be systematized into the order table in this listing. The basic shapes are shown in the photo: straight and smooth hooks, in the form of an hourglass, with one or more balls, "gothic" etc. When ordering, please write in the note what kind of shape you like most, and also specify the type of wood and the size of the hook.
Other custom forms and designs are available too. Just write us, describing the comfortable form, desired wood and the size - and we'll start working at your new crochet hook. You can also send us the picture or the link, it will help us to understand and the idea quicker.
For crochet hooks of the smallest size - 4 and 4.5 mm, we recommend choosing hornbeam wood- it is very hard, smooth, perfectly polished and slightly porous, looks like ivory - both in tone and in smoothness and gloss. We make wooden hooks ranging in size from G to Q (starting from 4 mm and bigger). Smaller sizes are also possible, in a combined style. We use metal (aluminum) tips to get smaller sizes, which are difficult or impossible to do in wood. We can insert both aluminum and steel hooks into a handle to your choice.
More porous woods - Bog oak, Honey locust, Pear, Apple - are better to use for turning crochet hooks in the size from 7 mm and more.
Robinia wood (Black locust, Acacia) has a variety of shades - from light beige and greenish to reddish-brown and the color of dark chocolate, so please indicate in the order exactly which tone you choose.
If you don't find your country in the list of selected countries - don't worry, we ship worldwide. Please, get in touch with us before making an order and we'll inform you concerning the correct shipping price. Thank you for understanding!)
Feel free to ask any questions. And thank you for your interest!))
Love it!! Even though I opted for a more simple design to ease my wallet, the one I picked surpassed my expectations! It came in the most beautiful handmade felt case and had a lovely inscribed postcard from the seller. So heartwarming to receive! The crochet hook itself is like a dream, its magnificent to use and just holding it gives me the most amazing energy. I love handmade wood products, these crochet hooks are heavenly!
