Once again, one of my customers suggested that I make this paper! Thank you (because I love it)!
This paper is made from a combination of abaca fiber and the white inner bark from the kozo tree. It's remarkably thin, with very deckled edges, yet it's really strong.
I cook, clean and beat the kozo fiber by hand and then combine it with the abaca fiber and beat it again.
The pulp was dyed lavender before sheet formation. Each sheet is individually made.
Abaca is a very strong versatile pulp from the banana leaf. It's commonly known in the international trade as Manila Hemp and is considered the strongest of natural fibers. It is 3 times stronger than Sisal fiber, and is far more resistant to salt water decomposition than most of the vegetable fibers.
Excellent for printmaking, drawing, and all paper crafts!
Listing is for five sheets of 11x 14 inch paper.
Absolutely beautiful paper. Well crafted, fast shipping and a very kind seller.
