This listing is for a hand spun skein of wool from the Falkland Islands. The sheep are a cross between a Merino and a Polwarth and are raised on the Falkland Islands, thus the name! This is an amazingly strong, yet soft yarn. It is 250 yards of 3-ply fingering to sport weight - perfect for anything to be worn close to the skin. The colors in this skein are a dark olive, copper, and a dirty yellow. When I plied the yarn, I did so with a technique called Navajo or chain plying. This allows the colors to "stay together" - no barber pole effect here.
The colors in the picture are a good representation of the actual colors of the yarn. I am not responsible for any discrepancies due to differences in monitors.
This yarn will felt if washed in a washing machine. If that is not your intention, please be sure to hand wash gently in cool water and lay flat to dry.
