I've been blacksmithing on and off for about 20 years, but never really got into knifemaking until I saw Forged In Fire in early 2017. This knife was made for a Marine who "wanted a badass knife to wear on my vest for my last deployment." And I was happy to oblige.
14.5" of 5160 spring steel, drop point, slight recurve, Bocote handle (Made for a right handed user) with copper pins and sharp AF. Custom wooden case with a laser etched birdseye maple top.
This knife can be made in any length from 7" overall to 16" overall. The handle material is entirely up to you but must be full tang scales.
The box was made specifically for the knife and cradles it in a high density, non-reactive foam. The top is laser etched by a fellow maker near my shop in Taylors Mill---Pinpoint Design Studio. They do amazing work and always come through with whatever I need!
Note: This is not stainless steel and must be cared for accordingly. I polish blades to mirror finish, some imperfections will remain, my hammer gets a bit heavy sometimes. ;-) But none of them affect the strength or performance of the blades.
Finally, 80% of all sales of knives go to Wounded Warriors Project.
